Derrick Rose's return doesn't guarantee Bulls season

11:13 AM ET 12.31 | A sigh of relief has been heard all across the world; those sighs are coming from Chicago Bulls fans who are ecstatic that Derrick Rose has returned to team practices as of Dec. 20. Everybody is buzzing about Rose's big return, and every little update we receive on his rehab, or what he is limited to at team practices takes the excitement to a whole other level. Rose's teammates however, seem to be coping with the excitement differently than what we all would expect. Bulls fans have been patient and stuck with the team no matter what. The team players could learn a thing or two from Bulls fans; they have to stay loyal to the team, do whatever it takes to win, and most importantly they must regroup and regain their focus. Just because Rose is on the verge of return, that does not exactly mean that the season is saved. The Bulls still have a lot of work to do and plenty of bumps in the road to overcome.

Sad to see the state of Chicago, who only a couple seasons ago looked like a championship contender.

I love Rose but when you are dependent on one man you are not a team. Rose needs to be able to coast at first so that he can gain confidence in the joint.

I don't see how. Except for Noah (who is still not an offensive threat), they really will have no nucleus around Rose, who will never be the same in terms of his quickness and leaping ability. Shooting, yes.

Adrian Peterson returned better than ever after his injury. These days athletes can get back to where they were after an injury like that.

Also, the Bulls aren't far off even without Rose. With Rose, the Bulls can win a playoff series against anyone.

I totally agree. Losing to the cats shows how bad they really are. The cats simply wanted the game more.

They are not at the point where their fans should start wearing bags over their heads but the cats are. Need I say more?

It remains to be seen if Rose can come back and do as well as Peterson. he was the heart of the team. Someone else needs to step up.

16-13 is not a bad record. (Is it 16-14 after the lost to the cats?) The recent injuries have shown that Belinelli can play offense. Can they get him to play the team defense they need?

Smart on the court, Smart off the court. D. Rose has seen what he's working with and I like the fact that he isn't guaranteeing anything. Let the whole thing play iotself out especially after that recent loss to the Bobcats.

Ridiculous statement.

First they're a "bad" team.......then, it was a matter of the cats 'wanting the game more'.

Bottom line......the Bulls shot 34% in that game, missing about 15 wide open shots......only reason they lost the game. They had a bad game......happens from time-to-time to every team.
