02:28 PM ET 12.31 | It has been a season filled with injuries for the New York Knicks so far and with the upcoming return of forward Amar'e Stoudemire, the Knicks are getting some more good news as the calendar gets ready to turn to 2013, Injured second-year guard Iman Shumpert said he will join the Knicks for Sunday's practice on a limited basis when the club returns from its West Coast trip, but is not ready to be cleared for contact -- the final step to his long-awaited return.

Shump still got ways to go. It'll take a while for him to get his athleticsm that made him a household pest for elite scorers in the league. But hopefully he and STAT will peak come playoff time.

Meh......the Knicks have no chance for a championship this year.....they should have him take the season off so that he can recover completely.....
