03:14 PM ET 12.31 | The Oakland Raiders have fired offensive coordinator Greg Knapp, special teams coach Steve Hoffman, offensive line coach Frank Pollack and linebackers coach Johnny Holland, according to a tweet from ESPN's Bill Williamson. The Raiders are cleaning house after their 10th straight season without a playoff berth, but head coach Dennis Allen truly feels he can turn the team around, though it looks like he wants to surround himself with a different set of coaches following his first year at the helm.

The Raiders suck. They're terrible, and have little hope heading into next season.I think the Chiefs will win again before the Raiders. They're that bad.

Yeah, this season they most definitely did. But you have to admit they were turning it around the prior two years - until they changed the one thing good about the team, the offense.

Hopefully with these changes they can continue on the path they were headed prior to the mistake known as Greg Knapp.

It just kills me to see a franchise with such a great tradition and history get dragged through the mud.

10 straight years without a playoff birth. That great tradition you speak of is becoming a distant memory.

The Raiders need some stability, they are to dysfunctional, how can a GM and coach hire a offensive coordinator and then fire him the following year.

The problem with the Raiders is that their player are the real problem. They have been notoriously terrible in the draft. I saw some little bit of trivia about players taken after the Raiders had taken their pick in the 1st round, all the players that were taken after the Raiders turned out to be Super Stars the ones the Raiders picked were dudes, Green Bay picked right after Oakland in 2005 and they took Aaron Rodgers. SO IF YOU ARE THE TEAM THAT PICKS AFTER OAKLAND- WHICH WILL BE PHILADELPHIA IN 2013, EXPECT TO HAVE A GREAT DRAFT. And if you are picked by Oakland, odds are you will be a bust.

Well, the stability is coming in the retaining of Dennis Allen. Allen made a mistake hiring an OC that fit his desire to change the offensive scheme solely based on it being the most difficult to defend. Problem is none of our players fit that scheme and thus the offense was completely inept.

Hopefully they go back to what was successful two years prior and find an OC and O-line coach that fits our players.

Special teams sucked this year. Only move I question is the LB coach.

PURE STUPIDITY - You hire a staff of coaches and then after one year you fire them ?? Gregg Knapp is a good offensive coordinator. Oakland better have a better proven OC in the wings that they are going to hire- long term. Will they now rehire Hue Jackson?

Before you fine tune your offense and defense you need to draft or gain through free agency a team of quality players, the Raiders are a group of 2nd rate underachievers.

They Raiders need to stabilize their organization and need to put together a corp of people that will be together for at least 2-3 years, not firing coaches every year because the problem happens to be with the players and not the coaches. Oakland has a proven track record of terrible drafting, because apparently they don't have quality scouts looking for diamonds in the rough. The Raiders have a lot of holes to fill, they need lots of draft picks, something they are in short supply of.

I was against the Knapp offense the last time he was there - and now glad to see him go.....hope his buyout was low. I trust Big Mac will make the right calls and right this ship - through the draft and not speedster heaven. This will take years, not months.
