Cardinals clean out offensive staff

03:18 PM ET 12.31 | The Arizona Cardinals are cleaning house, firing their offensive coaching staff shortly after announcing the removal of head coach Ken Whisenhunt and GM Rod Graves. The organization's Twitter account released a full list of the fired coaches, which includes Russ Grimm, Frank Reich, Tommie Robinson, John McNulty, Mike Miller, and Chad Grimm. Arizona has not updated the status of tight ends coach Freddie Kitchens, who appears safe for the moment. The Cardinals wrapped up an ugly 5-11 season on Sunday, losing 11 of their last 12 games after a promising September start. It was particularly woeful on the offensive side of the ball, where the team ranked dead last in the league in rushing yards and 28th overall in passing yards. The failure to find a suitable option at quarterback added to the misery.

I'm kind of surprised that Bidwill was willing to eat the remaining $5.5 million on Whisenhunt's contract.

Let me get this straight...Whisenhunt took the team to their only Super Bowl, but gets fired after having to spend the year with chumps playing QB.Not sure I agree with that. Maybe he could have developed Kolb better, but maybe only GM Graves should have been shown the door, not the coach.

I think it was his inability to go with a QB and stick with it. He changed QBs every weekend and lost his team as a result.

This one was surprising to me, given the circumstances under which these guys had to coach this year: injuries and general lack of talent.

It's Bill Bidwell... par for the course.

The Team on paper was better than the Rams and Seattle in the beginning of the Season, they wound up in the bottom of the Division, SF replaced it's quarterback and continued to win, Seattle had Rookie QB and Rams improved from last year, the Cards gave up on the season, if you lose control of the Team, you get fired, that's what happened!

Also his failure to develop a QB..maybe he couldnt help who the GM drafted but Im sure he had some input so he should held accountable for that. Kurt Warner made him look a lot smarter than he has proven to be

He had to go. Too passive, changed his mind (with QBs) and stuck with it even if it didn't pan out. Didn't play Wells at all last game although healthy, his doghouse was getting to big.

And that wasn't His team that he took to the SB, he inherited almost all.

Good OC, not so good as HC, I always wondered why the Steelers chose Tomlin over him. shows how much I know....

Beanie Wells wanted out before the end of the season. Hope he has luck recruiting himself with 31 teams after such a dismal season at running back and can he stay healthy while picking up that fat paycheck he did not deserve.
