03:21 PM ET 12.31 | The Detroit Lions just wrapped up a 4-12 season and though reports of head coach Jim Schwartz being on the hot seat may be exaggerated, there are plenty of people that are unhappy with his performance this season. According to Mike Freeman of CBS Sports, one Lions player suggested that Schwartz "lost control of the team." This player, who obviously was not named, said that the players were at fault first and foremost, but that Schwartz lost control of the team, and that they were undisciplined as a whole. Of course, the player went on to say that it would be "stupid" to fire Schwartz. Detroit certainly looked like an undisciplined team this season, with multiple players getting in trouble off the field and even more of them getting in trouble on the field. The player quoted in the piece went on to say that everyone "needs to be accountable," and that the coaches "need to punish guys more when they screw up."

I like this guy, but I would have to agree. He needs to re-establish control, or be fired.

He won't be able to re-establish control until he decides he wants to grow up. He acts like a punk and his team takes on the same personality. If he's doing that to give them an edge he might want to consider the differences between being tough and being a punk.

A whole lot of coaches getting fired today. It could raise the unemployment rate nationally by a point or two and really hurt the recovery.

It's a shame they decided to give the guy an extension a couple of weeks ago...

As long as this doesn't turn into a merry-go-round with the same coaches hired for different teams.
