08:11 AM ET 01.01 | Kobe Bryant can hope for little change to his game as the calendar turns to 2013. The veteran guard has been scoring almost any time he wants thanks to a career rebirth that features the best shooting accuracy of his 17 seasons with the Lakers. He also just concluded a December in which his averages of 33.79 points, 5.57 rebounds and 4.64 assists were the highest cumulative marks in those categories in any month in his career. ... "It's probably the best I've played in a while," Bryant said Monday, citing an improved diet and Coach Mike D'Antoni's offense, among other factors. "I've had years the last few years where I felt pretty good but we kept my minutes down, so the numbers didn't look the same."

He had to carry the load for the team but if the team plans on reaching their potential then more Howard and Gasol will be needed.

I wouldn't call myself a Laker hater but we all know the numbers are inflated due to D'Antoni's system. It's a feel-good type of offense the delievers great results in the first round. However Mike's system does not live up to expectations in the playoffs.
So yes, Kobe's having a great year. His staggering numbers may win him another MVP trophy but come title time, Lakers won't be around when the winner is announced.

Happy New Year to all!!! Now let me tell ya bout this fraud imperso ala Jordan wannabe. When ya have a coach who believes in zero defense and who is outright scared to death to ruffle your feathers because of the legend of you, sure he'll certainly let you become the uncontrolled chucker that you are. I mean he knows he has no win in controlling Kobe. This is simply no Melo we're talkin here buddy. Kobe is a egotistical maniac who's jacket consist of uncontained chucking so with the Lakers playing as bad as they have been and Kobe gunning uncontrollably, why would he have the month that he has had. I mean no one else was doing anything and until they prove otherwise, the jacking up shots at rates higher than anytime before in his career will not cease. The ultimate gunner will never be contain under the Dumbtoni watch. Since Dumbtoni's been hired, please anyone, tell me of a discussion of him stressing defense. You'll catch a headache tryin to remember so don't even try. Kobe's jackatorism will not end! Apple!
