08:23 AM ET 01.01 | Georgia junior Jarvis Jones hasn't yet made a jump to the NFL official, though many expect him to do so soon. Underclassmen have until Jan. 15 to declare for the draft. But being the top overall pick is clearly something about which Jones has given some sincere thought. Asked if it was important to him to be selected No. 1, Jones answers the question with a question. "Has there ever been a defensive player from Georgia drafted No. 1?," he asked. ... [There] has not been a defensive player from Georgia that has become a No. 1 NFL pick. It's likely that Jones already knew that. And, yes, he'd like to become the first. "It'd be great," said Jones, a 6-foot-3, 241-pound outside linebacker from Columbus. "If I decide to come out I'm going to train to be No. 1."

Hate to say it, but it is too late to train to be No. 1. You either earned it with your play during the season or you didn't. Be realistic and you will be happier if drafted in first round of the draft.

Also, you'll be much happier to be taken later in the draft by a team that actually is decent. Don't get picked by the Browns, Chiefs, or Jets.

I disagree - if there are 2 potential number one picks and Jones is a freak at the combine, that could push him to be selected number 1 overall

At least they are closer to a playoff than the three I mentioned. The Cowboys almost made it this year. They just need to correct a couple of things and they can make it. Injuries also hurt them badly this year.
Disclaimer: I'm not a Cowboy fan, even kind of dislike them, but I see what I see.

not that I knew these, but you posed an interesting enough question it was worth looking up.
