Olympic Games among the trade chips

08:28 AM ET 01.01 | Where is it that Don Fehr will spend his time trying to squeeze the league on its latest offer? A higher salary cap than the projected $60 million in 2013-14 and a limit on escrow payments will likely be at the top of the list. ... One item that has yet to be resolved on which the players should insist is participation in the 2014 Winter Olympic Games and beyond. Actually, both sides should be eager to get this done. If the NHL and the NHLPA are truly repentant about putting their fans through this latest imbroglio and truly want to do right by them, then they will do the right thing and make sure the best players on the planet play each other on the biggest stage in the world every four years.

Are you kidding. I'm gonna get this enlarged, framed and hang it in my bathroom. Sort of a defence (note the c!) against constipation.

Yey! That's all we've been waiting for! We've missed a half a season of NHL hockey so we can see the O-Lame-Picks!!

Malkin and Ovechkin both said that they were gonna play for their countries anyways even if the NHL says they cant...now that balls. Having the NHL players participate in the oly's just makes too much sense...what would you rather watch anyways..the All-Star Game or the Oly's.

Is this assuming that the strike will be settled before the Olympics?
