Greg Schiano says Josh Freeman needs evaluation

12:17 PM ET 01.01 | This season was a polarizing season for the Buccaneers and particularly for quarterback Josh Freeman. On the one hand, Freeman had a 4,000-yard passing year and looked brilliant at times during the Bucs' epic winning streak in the middle of the season. But on the other hand, and specifically when the going got tough, Freeman fell into old habits of looking just atrocious. Freeman is entering the final year of his contract with the Buccaneers, and there's still a giant question mark above him as to whether he's really the long-term answer for this team. Head coach Greg Schiano backhandedly said Freeman is good, but he still needs evaluation as a franchise quarterback. Schiano likes Freeman, and Bucs fans want to like him but the rift is starting to be hard to ignore and something seismic is about to happen in Tampa.

Many teams would be interested in Josh Freeman. He's a quality person and a top notch quarterback. Maybe some consistency in offensive philosophy would help.

Schiano is a good coach and always has his finger on the button, he did well his first year, he should go have a drink with Tom Coughlin, maybe he can learn a little more about attitudes!!!

Still evaluating him??? Better get on that, 5 years should be enough time, one would hope. I'm sure he appreciates the vote of confidence.

Completing 55% of your passes, QB rating of 81.6 is not "top notch"

I know, let's have SF trade him, their 2013 picks, their 2014 picks, *and* their 2015 picks to DC for RG III....

Freeman can't deliver in the big games so cut him no loss.

Sounds just like Tony Romo so how about a straight-up trade, Dallas? : P
