I don't see it. I wish him the best of luck. He seems to be a good guy, but I just don't see him in the big chair.

For the past 24 yrs he's done nothing but coach ST's. He's never even been a coordinator, or a positional coach, on any level. How does that qualify him for a head coaching position with one of the NFL's most storied franchises?

Me either... He's a fiery guy but that's about it. And it's not like the special teams here have been all that.

Perhaps its the "firey Guy" that they are interested in. Wasn't part of Lovie's problem he didn't hold the players accountable ?

They are seeing special team coaches as head coach material cause of the logistical problems they go through fielding ST's as the guy moved to the practice roster could have been on 3-4 of the ST covers but cause of injuries or whatever the other guy was elevated to the game roster who is not a good ST player but is needed they basically scout their own team looking for fits to their special teams that the HC OC and DC have deemed can play on them (ie one of the biggest reasons punters are now the holders on FG's ) an injury to a starter that doesn't play ST but the only player who is on the game roster that can fill his spot plays ST's do they take him of the ST's a player is injured that plays ST's his position on that unit has to be replaced and has to know their responsibilities. They used to be just above the strength coach and QC coach but they are now almost on a par with the coordinators on offense and defense and their special teams developed skill-set is more in line with HC issues than an injury to a position player is to a coordinator
