08:06 AM ET 01.02 | What a difference a few years makes for Deron Williams. The matchup between [Williams and Thunder star Russell Westbrook on Wednesday night] should be a battle between two of the elite point guards in the NBA. But given the way Williams has performed this season, it's hard to argue more than one elite point guard will take the floor [Wednesday] at Chesapeake Energy Arena. "I don't think I'm playing like [an elite point guard]," Williams said before practice [Tuesday]. ... Williams admitted the struggles he and the Nets have experienced -- going 5-11 in December and seeing coach Avery Johnson get fired last week -- have worn on him. "Probably [the most in] my whole life, not just the league," Williams said when asked if he's ever been this frustrated.

Damn...this guy cant hack nyc

No Meat, I don't think it that......He's playin for the Nets and as such, NYC expectations aren't that great because most New Yorkers knows clearly he plays for a second rate outfit in the Nets. Lets face it, the Nets just ain't the Knicks so in sayin he can't hack NYC is giving him way too much credit. This is what is kinda whats expected outta Williams and his outfit! Apple!

Sorry but I NEVER thought dWill was elite. Not at the JKidd CP3 levels that the media was raving about. Yes, he used to score freely, but never impacted games like the other elite PGs.
Atleast he knows how to get coaches fired!

I totally agree. He's a good player but I wouldn't put him in my top 5 anytime soon.

Seems like some of these guys get their Max contract and suddenly start having issues. Hibbert wasn't "feeling it" at the beginning of this year either. I guess finally getting that max deal tends to mean they can relax now.

True that. They are just doing everything not to get hurt or seriously injure themselves.

And why the NFL is smart (as mentioned in an earlier post) not to guarantee contracts.
