Crosby has clear preference on exhibition games

08:19 AM ET 01.02 | If indeed the two sides strike a deal, how long will it take to lurch the NHL operation forward from a standstill? The consensus is that if there is an agreement, teams will need at least seven days of training camp to adequately prepare for the games that follow. Considering that all concerned likely will want to start playing at the earliest practical date, the chances of clubs having much more than a week seem remote, at best. Still, [Sidney Crosby] said he would like to have two or three exhibition games to prepare for the ones that count, and to reduce the chances of players being injured because they don't have an opportunity to get ready for the rigors of a compressed schedule.

and he needs to get up his "face slapping" strength

Don't tell me this is going to be the new "sticking point" in signing this deal. And I'm sorry Sid but the earliest practical date was back in September.

Otherwise it will be the GPHL groin pull hockey league.

Semin will work with him off ice to help with that.

Being a Caps fan I figured you of all people would know better then to reference Semin working

LMAO. You're right of course. But I was up late last night and was still a little foggy when I posted that! And, face-slapping is considered "work" by Alex. :)))

His preference is to play a few exhibition games against the women's teams (This should cause a stir. If DWI's around, I'm going into hiding). :-)

I agree with Crosby, get a few exhibition games in so we can get a real feel for how bad the Pens D and goalie situation is :)

Isn't that just a regular intrasquad scrimmage for the Pens?

You guys are brutal today.
Dude's worried about a quality product being on the ice and player safety.
I wish the NHL cared as much about the game as Sid does.

Oh. Sorry, DD. Forgot about you. You know how it is, when there's not much else to talk about, let's pick on Sid. It's a sure bet to generate some discussion. Take it for what it is.

Fans need time to get into mid season form too, should a CBA be signed.
