06:00 PM ET 01.02 | Oregon head coach Chip Kelly will interview with the Cleveland Browns on Friday, according to an ESPN report. Kelly and the Ducks are in Arizona preparing for Thursday night's Fiesta Bowl against Kansas State. Browns CEO Joe Banner was reportedly in Arizona this week to interview Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton, but also with an eye on a meeting with Kelly. While meeting with the media in Arizona, Kelly deftly danced around questions about the speculation of his jump to the NFL. In a new wrinkle, it was reported by Ian Rapoport on Wednesday that Kelly "would NOT require total control of football ops to take an NFL job."

Browns need to take a chance. This guy could be gold. Look at the last two NFL teams who hired a college coach from the Pac 10...Seattle and San Fran.

He's done well, they have to keep him their more than a couple of years, he needs time to develop his system!!!

My gut tells me no. My eyes say yes. I hope we get to find out. It could be awesome or a complete disaster. Either way it will be fun to watch.

Wasnt Bobby Petrino supposed to be an "offemsive innovator" too? Ask ATL how that worked out...stay in college dude

Memo to Chip Kelly: Another chance at an NCAA championship vs. a sub-.500 NFL season. Not everything comes down to money.

As a Browns fan I really don't think Kelly is the answer? Now Gruden on the other hand...

Chip Kelly to the NFL...crash and burn.

Some coaches are just made for college. Go ahead Chip and scratch this itch. Remember to rent; don't buy.

Gruden? Jay Gruden, sure.

John Gruden...fuhgettaboutit. He makes $4.3 MILLION to just sit in the booth for ESPN. Why would he want that headache in Cleveland? Maybe for $20 million per year and complete control of all football decisions.

Cleveland Browns...where Coaches and GM's of every creed and background go to fail and get fired. Does it ever stop ?

Ask Dallas and Jacksonville how well that "criteria" is working.

Hey we're taking baby steps here! We just want to make the playoffs and build from there. At least JJ has a few championships under his belt.

Some stability right from training camp, will be good for this team. I think they are moving in the right direction. Maybe a little undecided at QB. If Weeden can stay healthy....who knows?

I hear you but Gruden is from Sandusky which is about an hour away and he grew up a Browns fan.
