The best dynasty ever

08:21 AM ET 01.03 | Two college football powerhouse programs square off on Jan. 7 with some significant bragging rights on the line for Alabama. Only two other programs have won three championships in four years in the wire service era (since 1936). ... Dynasty is always a loaded word, sparking debate and suggesting long-term excellence. A lot of you will immediately think of Oklahoma's 47-game winning streak in the 1950s. It took Bud Wilkinson 17 years to win his three titles. If he triumphs next week, Saban would have won four in 11 SEC seasons at two schools. A fourth title would tie him with Notre Dame's Frank Leahy and put Saban two away from tying Bear Bryant. You see where this could be headed. Immortality.

It's too bad that it doesn't carry over into the classroom.

"You see where this could be headed. Immortality."

Despite his obvious allegiance with a similarly named (insert t for b) somewhat omnipotent power, my money is still on death... In the end, he collects on the bargains made with souls...

.....saban is the best in college football, after mike leach.....but will lose badly to the domers bc his kids can read (just barely) and hear the rumors of him going to the cowboys the day after the big loss...

Ever? Don't think so...I believe the land thieves had the best one back in the day if memory serves me correctly...but I only go back so far.

It's funny. USC won 1.5 NCs and they were called a dynasty. Alabama has to win 3 before they are called one.

Oh, and they had to vacate one of those, so in the end they really only had 1/2 of an Nc and people called them a dynasty.

QUOTE(#8):

Frank Leahy had the greatest Dynasty of all time, it's not close. 87???11???9? Six undefeated seasons, 4 National Championships, 39 straight games unbeaten, coached 4 Heisman winners(and recruited Paul Hornung), oh and did I mention he left Notre Dame for 2 years in 1944 to serve in the Navy in WWII where he rose to lieutenant?

The only thing I'll give the "modern era" teams credit for is they've done it during the scholarship limitation times. Back in the day, teams could stockpile guys just to keep them from playing for the opponent.

But, "ever" is a damn long time.

A dynasty? Don't think so....last year Bama shouldn't have even been in the game. Actually, Bama shouldn't be in this year's game either.

Regardless of the outcome, Bama is not a dynasty.

A BIG RE-OCCURING lesson surfaced again last night in the FL/LOUISVILLE game. If the STUN GUN hits early, often & out of no where, predictable outcomes change. Talkin the Talk is easier than Walkin the Walk. KNOCKING on DYNASTY'S door feels great, BUT, it takes 60 minutes, EVERY down, EVERY time, OVER AND OVER AGAIN, to wear the CROWN. A GREAT lesson for BAMA to have seen last night ... Assuming they broke away from LeBron & the Heat early ...
ROLL TIDE ROLL!

I watched last night's game on ESPN America - LeBron & the Heat were featured at every other commercial break and significantly at halftime. Anyone else see this?

Has the line moved since last night's blowout of Florida or is it still 10?
