06:30 PM ET 01.03 | Tony Allen freely admitted that he "ain't no analyst," but that didn't stop him from diagnosing his former team's struggles. "I don't think they've really got a defensive-minded guy yet," the Grizzlies' guard said of the Boston Celtics. "I mean, they've got one [Avery Bradley], but I can't say he's 100 percent just yet. I don't think they've got the center like Perk [Kendrick Perkins]. It's kind of hard finding a guy like ??? a guy who clogs up the paint, talks trash to you and can actually back it up. They're just missing a lot. I don't know. I don't see the same team from 2008." The Grizzlies' 93-83 victory on Wednesday dropped Boston's record to 14-17 on the season.

They didn't want to pay Perk. that's why they traded him for someone cheaper.

QUOTE(#6):

The NBA has definitely turned conventional wisdom on its head this past year. A few years ago, the things that are happening now would make no sense. The Lakers landed the NBA's golden goose and still have Kobe, and they are struggling. The Clippers (!!) are one of the hottest teams in the league. (??!!)The Grizzlies are a threat to win the conference. Dwayne Wade - a few years ago one of the league's most beloved players - is now known as a dirty player.Mark Cuban - a few years ago known as one of the big spenders - saved costs and dismantled his team instead of attempting to defend his title. The Celtics - always known for tough defense regardless of the franchise record - is now being criticized for "missing" defensive pieces. The Warriors - always known for lacking good big men - now have two superior big men and are playoff bound.--------------------------Yup, things are certainly different...

Agree with everything else but about Wade. Amongst the players, he has ALWAYS been considered "dirty". (Along with a few other Big name players like KG etc)

No he wasn't. He wanted to stay.

Yes, but he wanted way the heck too much money to stay.
