08:12 AM ET 01.04 | Twitter lit up Thursday night with news that the Spurs' Stephen Jackson had been injured against the Knicks -- not because he was injured, but how. We've seen players tumble into cameramen under the basket before or get hurt when diving into the crowd, but this is a new one. With a little less than 3 1/2 minutes to go in the first quarter, [Jackson] missed a corner 3-pointer and took a step backward, where he collided with a waitress squatting just outside the sideline, just in front of New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, who was sitting courtside across from the Knicks' bench. Jackson turned his right ankle on the play and couldn't get back on defense on the ensuing possession. ... Jackson didn't return to the game, but the waitress was seemingly unaffected.

For all the thugness in him all it took was a flyweight to knock him out... I don't feel bad for him.

Waitresses are a lot tougher than they used to be. NBA players, not so much.

I've been taken out by a few waitresses in my time. Luckily, while some got me on the floor, at least I was not writhing in pain.
