08:12 AM ET 01.04 | As a Lakers assistant coach, Darvin Ham has the occasion of sometimes guarding Kobe Bryant, which puts the former NBA player in a unique position to compare Bryant to Michael Jordan. Here's how Ham described the task of defending two of the greatest 1-on-1 players of all time: Q: On the similarities and differences between KB and MJ: Ham: I think Kobe is a far better pure shooter. I think they're both equal in having initial moves, counter moves, and then if you stop the initial and counter, they have an escape move. They're totally identical in that aspect. Mike was probably stronger, but Kobe is more fluid. Take nothing away from Mike (because) he had an amazing, amazing arsenal of moves, but Kobe is a lot more fluid.

Not the first time I heard this. Kobe might be a better shooter but he always try to take the difficult shot, causing his shooting percentage to be way low if we compare with Jordan shooting percentage . I do agree that Jordan was more stronger and could absorb contact better than Kobe.

I agree with you to an extent.
But, I do notice how many are critical about Kobe "forcing things too much" now that the team is doing poorly...it's accepted when they win thougjh.

If MJ was on the Lakers now with this coach, roster and at this stage of his career, I believe he too would would fall into the same trap of trying to do too much.
