05:06 PM ET 01.04 | Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson will meet with coach Ron Rivera this weekend to discuss his future with the organization, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. The Panthers have informed the assistant coaches that their status for next season should be known by Monday, as the Carolina coaching staff has been kept in the dark about their future since the conclusion of the season. Rivera is in his second season as the Panthers head coach after two seasons as the defensive coordinator with the San Diego Chargers.

The guy probably deserves one more year. Panthers need better drafts to acquire good players, but they did finish strong. Let him stay.

As a Bears fan, let me save you the trouble. Keep Ron Rivera. Keep him forever. He is the coach all other coaches strive to be like. You have a diamond in the roughest of roughs! In fact, that's his new nickname Diamond Ron!

I hear you and most ppl here in Charlotte are torn for 2 reasons:
1- His teams have won games the second half of both seasons which is good but also its after the playoff hopes are gone so its like...maybe he can only coach games that dont matter

also

2- He makes HORRENDOUS decisions at the eng d of games, which is why his record is so poor in games decided by 4 pts or less. True players make or miss plays but its the coaching philosophy that either allows or hinders players from performing to their max ability. He coaches "scared" meaning he coaches not to lose instead of to win and that often got us beat.

Basically, I like his personality but think he is probably better suited to be a def coordinator. Doesnt seem to have the "stuff" needed to be a real good HC. Either that or hire better coordinators on both sides

I'd give him a third year. Newton was horrendous in the first half of this season. As he came along in the second half so did the team.

He should be able to get them on Track!
