06:56 PM ET 01.04 | It appears that Chip Kelly has coached his last game with the Oregon Ducks and the NFL fans in Cleveland are about to get a lot happier. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that Kelly is close to a deal that will name him the next head coach of the Cleveland Browns. We all knew Kelly had an up-tempo offense, but we could have never imagined his decisions would move just as fast. Cleveland named Kelly the top target early in the coaching search and it has to have the organization thrilled to secure their number one guy. The offense in Cleveland is about to get a facelift.

At least this time Cleveland would bring in a guy who would appear to have a resume....although, not in NFL. But now they still have to find a way to repair the BIG MISTAKE Haslam and Banner made in letting GM - Tom Heckert go. Heckert was doing a fantastic job and I will never understand why they would just get rid of him rather than FIRST seeing if the new coach and Heckert could work together. It was the first time the Browns had picks that where paying off and playing well, even the later round picks....and that is how you build good teams. Now we have to HOPE they find a replacement as good.
