Roger Goodell asks Ray Lewis to be his personal advisor

07:35 PM ET 01.04 | It's been a rough year for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, one that he'll be more than happy to bury with postseason hype. But while the debacle of the 2012 season is almost behind us, the bitter taste it's leaving in our mouths isn't going anywhere. Roger Goodell is the first guy that would like to change that, and he's asking Ray Lewis to help him. He's not a guy who will ever roll over and let the players scratch his belly, but Goodell probably realizes that some bridges need to be repaired. That's likely why he's asked soon-to-be retired NFL tough man Ray Lewis to be his personal advisor. There is a lot of therapy that needs to be done before Goodell and the players union can be in the same room as one another, but by brining on Lewis, Goodell is at least demonstrating that he's willing to try. After his bullheaded 2012 season, that's way more than we could have ever asked for.

Paying Ray Lewis to be your adviser is not going to give you any credibility and the players won't like you more because of this. Is Roger Goodell really that ignorant and arrogant all at the same time?

Paying Ray Lewis to be your personal advisor is like asking Hitler to be your advisor on American-Jewish relations. Paying Ray Lewis to be your personal advisor is like asking Charles Manson to be your advisor on American prisons. Paying Ray Lewis to be your personal advisor is like asking Chris Brown to be your advisor on domestic violence issues. I always knew Badell was a worthless idiot, but now I know he is a worthless [insert explicative beginning with "f"] idiot. And Ray Lewis is a murderer.

checked this out further oh how I hate internet stories
from AP (and I don't mean Adrian Peterson) Oct 2012
A fight broke out between Lewis and his companions and another group of people after the Super Bowl, resulting in the stabbing deaths of Jacinth Baker and Richard Lollar. The charges for murder were later dismissed in a plea deal. No one ever served time for the murder of the two black Atlanta men.

So lets just break it down. Ray Lewis was drinking in a bar after the superbowl, he had some friends who were a little rough around the edges and a fight started. Now I guess if you are a choirboy this has never happened to you, but for a number of us it's "been there, done that". Things got out of control and blood was spilled. Now I guess for some people the natural instinct would be to just turn over your friends right then and there. I'm not one of those people, seems Ray isn't either. Did he do the right thing? Technically no. Can I understand why he did it? Yeah.

While we're outside a bouncer starts getting my cousins face and another bouncer Grabs me and throws me up against a Lincoln Limo, I bounce off the Limo and The Bouncer has both hands raised over his head, the thrust of my body had me moving forward directly at him, I threw one punch and broke his nose and blood and bodies were everywhere, it happens and when you least expect it! By The way we didn't pay the Tab!!!
