10:00 AM ET 01.05 | Notre Dame's run to the national championship game continues to overflow with triumphs. And this was the second one at USC's expense, too. Five-star safety Max Redfield made an oral commitment to the Irish during the Under Armour All-American Game on Friday, a generally expected decision made after Mission Viejo, Calif., native decommitted from USC in early November. The 6-foot-2-inch, 195-pound Redfield is the No. 24 player nationally and No. 3 safety prospect in the Class of 2013, per Rivals.com rankings. He is also the third five-star player to join the Irish's recruiting haul, along with running back Greg Bryant and linebacker Jaylon Smith.

Good get for the domers. We still picked up McQuay last night. Sorry Piratey, our class isn't "falling apart" as you said it would. 3 spots, 3 more 4 or 5* guys. No complaints outta me.

ICE, I agree, It's going to be a little rough going for the next couple of years, but it will turn out okay in the long run!!!

With the amount and level of talent that comes out of California, I'd agree that USC could afford this loss.

Yeah I bet after watching Texas A&M last night that the Longhorns say the same thing!!! LOL.

Shaggy Bevo boards melted down last night. The general gist was "Oklahoma embarrassed us and Texas A&M embarrassed Oklahoma. How far down are we really?"

A lot of harsh language was used in the direction of Mack Brown. I do not condone that kind of language. If I had heard them with my ears, they would have cried.

Brainfart, dude. Should've committed to Tennessee.

USCw could lose 20 verbally committed recruits and still stock the pantry. I'm have no worries for the USCw recruiting classes or our FN Trog fans.

Oh boy, the silly season of recruiting.

Oregon and aTm were the only big schools that offered Johnny Football a scholarship two years ago.

Would have loved to see an Oregon/aTm game this year! Me thinks it would have been very entertaining.

Good point and I also would have loved to see Oregon/Texas A&M play each other this year. Just think if ND would have lost a game during the regular season, you probably would be looking at a Bama/Florida NCG. Wouldn't that be fun to watch!!! LOL.

Yeah, but my point was that the Longhorns didn't want Manziel and if I'm not mistaken, Texas was one of his top choices!!

Can you imagine what it would have been if OU had played in the Sugar? That probably would have moved TU to the Cotton...

Among land grant universities, Tennessee ranks in the top echelon.

Got a Garmin? That was invented by a UTK grad. Want more examples? Google it, lazy private school boy.

Actually I think TAMU is peaking right now and think that no one can beat them right now....be interesting to see how they do next year, especially if the two tackles opt out.
