05:33 PM ET 01.05 | Atlanta Falcons director of player personnel Dave Caldwell appears to be the frontrunner for the Jacksonville Jaguars' vacant general manager job, according to ESPN New York's Rich Cimini. Steve Keim, the Arizona Cardinals' vice president of player personnel, is a finalist as well, according to other reports. Caldwell is in his first year in his current position with the Falcons after serving as the team's director of college scouting for four seasons. Caldwell, who reportedly impressed Jacksonville owner Shahid Khan during his interview on Monday, has also spent time with the Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts.

As a Colts fan who had to endure "the statue" for a coach known as Jim Caldwell, I say stay away if you can. And, really, Caldwell didn't build anything. When Dungy left, that team was in very good shape. On top of that, this is the first time that Caldwell has ever had play calling duties in the NFL.

Dude looks like the bad guy in any one of dozens of bad cop shows from the seventies. It's quite the improvement over the Crypt Keeper or Jerry, pre-facelift era.

Different Caldwell. The Jags are looking at David for GM and not Jim for coach.
