09:14 AM ET 01.06 | One name who could spice up the veteran quarterback market is Matt Flynn. We've heard Flynn could be on the move for the second time in as many seasons, this time via the trade market. Given that Russell Wilson has established himself as the clear No. 1 in Seattle, the Seahawks likely will listen to offers. In fact, if a team is willing to take on Flynn's big contract, it wouldn't be surprising if they could get the former Packer for reasonable trade compensation.

I wonder what would be a reasonable trade? Third rounder? Fourth rounder?

I'll admit to not being totally sold on last year's move by the Seahawks to acquire Matt Flynn, but never would have dreamed he wouldn't have a chance beyond training camp to prove worth the salary he commanded from a couple of games for the Packers.

SM, yeah IMO that sounds about right, but Flynn is still unproven, yet again if a team takes a QB at 3/4 they are also taking a chance.

I wonder if Andy Reid wants to get him for cheap and then develop him. If that happens, we'll see how good of a QB coach Reid is.

The Hawks would do well to wait until Alex Smith has signed, Michael Vick has landed, the Browns have decided on whether to keep or deal Weeden/McCoy, and other such moves. The losers in all that (Chiefs, Jets, Cardinals, and so on) would be your best bet to bid up the price.

Good point!!! I can see the Chiefs taking Flynn for a 3/4th round pick. They have the #1 overall pick and could pick another pick if, they get Flynn in a trade.

The Seahawks are in a good place on this one. Yes, he counts around $7 million on their cap next year, but they have a lot of cap room, so that is not a problem. Add in there is not much out there in FA for qB ( nothing really), and his value goes up.

Seattle should keep Flynn. If Russell Wilson goes down Flynn is the only back up. It's expensive but they could keep playing winning football if they keep Matt Flynn. By the way...Russell Wilson is 5'11" and 206 lbs.

That actually would be an upgrade over the mess they have.

My guess is that Flynn will go to the highest bidder.

Flynn would not want to take a pay cut and sit on the bench. I believe he will be traded.

IMO, Flynn with go to a team that desperately needs a QB, like KC!!! Let's not forget that Flynn hasn't proven anything as of yet in the NFL!!!

Nice to see a deal finally get worked out. My brother-in-law has been going through some serious Blackhawks withdrawal.
