09:22 AM ET 01.06 | NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Saturday that no timetable has been set for a meeting between NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and suspended New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton regarding Payton's reinstatement. Talk has persisted that Goodell would meet with Payton before the Feb. 3 Super Bowl in New Orleans. However, one league source said a pre-Super Bowl meeting is "very doubtful," while another said flat out it wouldn't happen. The common thinking in the NFL is the process will play out just the way the NFL dictated it would: The Super Bowl being played Feb. 3, with Payton eligible to apply for reinstatement the day after.

What all would Sean Payton gain by being reinstated early? A paycheck I assume, but what else?

That's a good question. They aren't going to the Super Bowl, so I think it's a moot point.

I just love how people throw a fit about Suh, but people back those low grade players and that trash coach how back his players that went out and try to hurt other players to get them out of the game.

Jeez, i think the guy has been punished enough. The team lost their whole season.

I agree.

He can actually enjoy the game a lot better on TV!

Payton should get Ray Lewis to put a word in for him...

Apparently you don't know all that much about pro football!!! The NFL has videos of Suh taking "cheap" shots on players!!! The NFL "DOES" not have any proven videos of Saint players "hurting other players to get them out of the game".

Choirboy got kicked around by the players lawyers so this is just his way of trying to prove he has stones. (Which of course he doesn't) Season is over for the Saints so it's a pretty impudent gesture as we can all agree is Choirboys forte'.

He would gain the ability to hire/fire new assistant coaches as they're changing teams at this time. By having to wait until after the Super Bowl, he loses out even though the Saints season is over.

So, you are saying he is very good at what he does. I am ok with that, and I wish any President of our country the best. Only the very stupid would do otherwise. We are the home team.

I would like to know what tapes that you were watching, but if you watch the saint players late hits and going after the knees that is what I saw.I seen other players now and in the past play like Suh and the worst of the worst played for the Bears Dick B.

And I'm sure you'll agree, both sides are to blame.
