09:35 AM ET 01.06 | The Marlins have unsuccessfully tried to trade for several third-base prospects in recent months because they're not convinced Zack Cox is the longterm answer. Cox, who will start 2013 in the minors, hit .253 with one homer and seven errors in 23 games at Double A after the Marlins acquired him from St. Louis.

"they're not convinced Zack Cox is the longterm answer."

The real question is why would they ever consider him a long term solution.

Isn't a long term solution to any of the Marlin's problems a contradiction? How is it that the Marlin's owner isn't being investigated for fraud in connection with suckering Miami and/or Dade County into building a new stadium?
