This would probably be a good deal for both teams. Kubel can DH and play some OF, and the Backs can address the glut of OFs while also restocking their minor league pitching.

the d'backs have OF depth to trade, arizona would likely trade, kubel with the orioles for pitching, the d'backs should trade Justins unton to the mariners and get some top triple A pitching prospect ,,,,,

trades of this magnitud should benifit both teams, mariners are asking desperately for a top hitter, d'backs could benifit with young top pitching prospects though,,

the interested teams are a mockering teams, rangers are the principal in refuse fair deal;,

i would like to see Justing upton been traded to the seatle after ll the mariners deserved much better any trade within any club,,,

If Showalter is interested, the guy can play!!!

This trade will not happen if they ever decide to trade Upton.

Jason Kubel has has proven he has no defensive skills. The Birds are looking for a warm body to place in Leftfield and some power/offense in the 3 through 6 holes in the line-up.-- After loosing out on FA Hamilton The D-Backs better get whatever the O's offer

January 6, 2013  12:50 PM ET

O's are looking for a 1st base guy, we have a glut of Outfielders/DHs if Reimold stays healthy. Duquette loves kicking tires, that's how he built the Red Sox that Theo inherited.

January 6, 2013  02:55 PM ET

Kubel would DH in Baltimore, so playing the OF wouldn't matter.

You obviously aren't aware that Kubel led the National League in outfield assists last season, and had a .995 fielding percentage. Just sayin'...

it would be more easy to trade Kubel than Justin upton due to the contract situation,,,

those two trades should take effect before the beginning of the season,,,because the other teams need hitting help, because d'backs expect to reload their farm system,,,

Mariners will soon join O's in the pursuit of Kubel. Both desperate for power. D'backs get a great return from whichever team blinks.
