11:04 AM ET 01.06 | Sources say the Cavs and Timberwolves have talked about an Anderson Varejao trade. Minnesota would probably want the Cavs to take back forward Derrick Williams, which could be a deal-breaker. The Cavs could have interest in center Nikola Pekovic, a bruising 6-11, 290-pounder. Before anyone gets excited, forward Kevin Love is not available.

I am not sure I understand why this helps Cleveland. How does it make them a better team? It seems they would be giving up a better player and receiving a lesser capable player.

I guess if they give up Derrick Williams, they are at least getting a little less diverse.... which seems to be part of their long-term plans. Maybe we should just be happy they moved on from their "Starting 5 point-guard" philosophy.

I don't get how this helps Minny. Minny is playing great w/ the players they are giving up and they're healthy.

Kevin Love just re-broke his hand and Rubio is still out with a bad back. I wouldn't exactly call that healthy.

Taking on Derrick Williams contract would be great for the Cavs... this kid just needs a place where he will get playing time.... TWolves don't know how to use the kid...

I'm talking about Pekovic and Williams. These guys are not hurt and they are helping Minny.

if they could get Pek, Williams and a pick, Chris Grant should get Exec. of the year

Varejao is playing better than Pau Gasol...

Rick is an idiot. Minnesota needs a new coach. Only improvement he is made on the team is developing Pek. And his assistant did that. Totally screwed Williams. Players are always hurt under him.

I love this trade by the Cavs. In fact I don't think they'll find a better trade than this one. Think about it, the Cavs get younger with more flexibility for the future. They won't have to draft a center for their future because they'll be getting that in Pekovic. They can also try Derrick Williams and if they don't like what they see on him they could let him go. The price? A center playing his best basketball at age 30. Cleveland should make this move now.

I do not approve this trade.. Andy to K-Lov, and a first round pick, then yes I would approve it.. Matter fact.. the Andy for the dude above, and 2 1st round picks in 2013 and 2014.
