02:30 PM ET 01.06 | After initial rumors that said Oregon head coach Chip Kelly was "close" to a deal with the Cleveland Browns, new reports have surfaced that Kelly will not be the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. "Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and execs are headed back to Browns," ESPN's Chris Mortensen wrote via Twitter. "Sources say they will reboot coach search without Chip Kelly in the fold." Kelly is now reported to be choosing between the Philadelphia Eagles and staying at Oregon.

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday Colt McCoy was in Chip Kelly's plans...

I'm imagine Chip Kelly is having a good laugh watching the press stumble all over itself trying to figure out what he's going to do.

In the last week SI has reported such breaking news as "Andy Reid 95% done deal with Arizona." and "Kelly Likes McCoy as QB."
Someday reporters will start reporting what they know instead of what they think and we will all be better off.

He has chosen to stay with Oregon... He said there are few if any quality players on the Eagles squad he could coach.. They are built on ego not team..

Absolutely. The Browns dodged a bullet. When I heard him say he doesn't care about defense...I want no part of that.

Swag hell, can you image the amount of money Knight could throw at Kelly. 10, 15, or 20 million a year would be a drop in the bucket for Uncle Phil.

If he decides to go back to Oregon this will be 2 years in a row that he has explored his NFL options but stayed a college coach. NFL organizations might not be interested in this crying wolf routine the 3rd time around. Simply put, he needs to stay in college.

Where did you hear that? Sounds like talk radio, but it doesn't sound like Chip Kelly. Oregon's defense has to stay on the field a lot due to the speed with which their offense scores. It is obvious he cares greatly about defense.

Glad Kelly is not going to be new coach. Now go get John Gruden, Lovie Smith, or even Bill Cowhler. We deserve to have a proven winner as coach.

I like both Whisenhunt and Arians as they would be much safer options than Kelly.

Maybe Jerry Jones threw a wad of money at him... God knows the Cowboys need ANY kind of help they can find.
Of course, if the Cowboys GM would just fire himself, things in Cowboy land would improve immediately.
