Jared Allen's first career surgery coming

02:36 PM ET 01.06 | Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen will have arthroscopic shoulder surgery now that the season has ended for the Vikings after their loss to the Green Bay Packers on Saturday in the NFL playoffs. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that this will be the first time that Allen has had surgery in his nine-year NFL career. Allen said that the shoulder has been a lingering issue for him this season.
