07:22 PM ET 01.06 | Robert Griffin III looks like he won't be coming back to the Wild Card playoffs for the Redskins after his injured right knee buckled on a botched snap in the fourth quarter. Griffin went down in a heap trying to pick up the ball and his knee clearly bent the wrong way. It was hard to even watch replays of it. It's unclear what his exact injury is.

Should not have been playing today

Hail to the Redskins!! Thanks for the memories.

Congrats to the Seahawks

ACL.....One year til he's healthy. He's a very small 6'2" and 210 lbs. They've got to find a way to protect him.

Thought that too, with the Hawks way of blitzing, Cousins might have been a little more mobile.

Certainly should have taken him out earlier in the game. At some point he was clearly having severe knee problems. No need to risk the further injury.

January 6, 2013  07:54 PM ET

Have the feeling that RG III has an ACL tear. Hopefully he didn't injure it more.

January 6, 2013  07:56 PM ET

Commiserations to Skins fans hope that RGIII hasn't done any permanent damage. Can't say he doesn't have guts.

January 6, 2013  08:04 PM ET

I guess his new name will be RG GIMPEE!!

January 6, 2013  08:05 PM ET

I hope he gets healthy soon. He was a lot of fun to watch this year, and he made the pistol offense almost impossible to defend.

January 6, 2013  08:07 PM ET

Hope he gets healthy very soon. He was a lot of fun to watch this year. He makes the pistol almost indefensible.

As good as RGIII is, Russel Wilson will be around for quite a while...his performance today was outstanding.........

January 6, 2013  08:38 PM ET

Just carrying on in the tradition of Redskins QB's. I know well get some reruns of the Thiesman incident.

January 6, 2013  08:41 PM ET

Seem like the Vikings cared a WHOLE LOT MORE about Ponder than the Skins cared about RGIII. To make matters worse, Cousins proved he was competent at qb, Webb, not so much.

January 6, 2013  08:48 PM ET

He should have been taken out the frist time he hurt his knee.I am not a fan of the Redskins but he is a very great player and I hope that he can come back at 100%.

You ain't seen nothing yet. I think Wilson leads the Hawks into Atlanta and gets the W.

January 6, 2013  08:55 PM ET

Shanahan should be fired! Griffin should have been taken out of the game in the first quarter. They are reporting that his Doctor had not even cleared him to play I'm sure RGIII wanted to play, but you can't gamble away the future for a win today. The Skins went way farther than anyone expected riding this guy this year. To gamble that away is just stupid.

I yelled out loud when I saw the play. It almost reminded me of Thiesmann. He really should not have been playing at that point - very risky decision by the coaching staff that turned out badly. There was no reason not to play Cousins - he is very good himself.

You're absolutely right. He hasn't been well for a while. Because he no longer had his quickness he was like a sitting duck back there. It was inevitable that he'd get hurt. I wonder why all those high priced minds in the Redskins organization couldn't see that? With their lack of concern he'll eventually get hurt very badly if he isn't already.
