08:00 AM ET 01.07 | Certainly compared to the Yankees and Red Sox, the NBA version of New York vs. Boston hasn't added much over the past few years. [Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire] are the lone holdovers from a Knicks squad that Boston swept in the first round of the NBA Playoffs in 2011. In less than two years, so much about one of the league's most storied rivalries is different but the most dramatic change is this: The Knicks are no longer looking up at the Celtics. Mike Woodson's team enters Monday's first meeting against Doc Rivers club in first place in the Atlantic Division and seven full games ahead of the Celtics in the standings. "We don't even think about them," Anthony said. "No disrespect or anything. We're focused on ourselves."

Not sure if they think about you guys either...they are more likely thinking about righting their ship.

Right now, the Knicks are head and shoulders above C's. Boston needs to press the reset button.

QUOTE(#3):

There's still a lot of hate between them. I can bet you that Melo wants to stick it to them and Rondo feels the same way.

KG's temper must be boiling over like hell... I won't be shocked if there's a brawl or a few ejections. Celts are some prideful so you can expect them to give their best... which may not be enough. In the grand scheme of things this game don't mean much to Knicks anyway. It aint like we need the wins. Celts on the other hand need to work harder to get into the playoffs so it's their game to win. Knicks won't mind dropping them one.

Exactly. The last thing a number 1 team will care about is another team struggling to get above water. I totally agree with everything Melo said not because he's a Knick but because he spoke the truth in wisdom. Winning comes from within so they need to look into themselves... not another team. Melo has really matured. But his old friends haven't that's why people see his statement in a negative way.

KEEP SPITTING THE TRUTH MELO....
