08:07 AM ET 01.07 | Nearly since the team's World Series appearance in 2007, the Rockies have been sinking, including a franchise-worst season in 2012. To call the Rockies a rudderless ship at this moment would be an insult to rudders. This is a ship with a hole the width of its bow. ... Ultimately, the leadership vacuum goes to the top of the franchise, where Rockies owner Dick Monfort allows his business to traipse along as if guided by Apple Maps. ... Perhaps because Monfort has run his family business with his brother Charlie he is warm to the idea of co-CEOs. It will not work in baseball, and the sooner Dick Monfort recognizes that, the sooner the Rockies will come to not wasting [Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez's] prime years.

Nice reference to the crappy "Apple Maps" app..... the one that actually may have the ability to contribute to someone getting lost - BIG TIME.

The baseball fans here in Colorado are held hostage to the owners like several other sports franchises. Until the owner goes the Rockies will continue to milk the cash cow and the gullible fans will drink the milk.

When you consider just the great stadium and terrific fanbase, Denver is a GREAT place for stars to think about playing. Factor in the ownership, however, and it's easy to see why stars stay away. I've loved baseball since I was 5 years old... and 53 years of loving the game is down the tubes for now as I have vowed to never set foot inside Coors Field again until the Monforts sell the team to someone who actually cares about baseball.

wiseup:Two stars like Car-Go or Toulo cannot carry the team by themselves. The Rockies have some talent on their team , however that talent hasn't played up to their potential. Management has under performed as well.

Rox have made some odd moves the last few years, but most importantly, they haven't developed any pitching. Free agents won't go to Denver to pitch, so the Rox have to develop their own...and they haven't.

As previously stated by Mozart 2010, they need an owner who gives a damn.

The rockies are a waste of a professional franchise in the NL West. There are other cities more deserving of a baseball team.
