Brissett's short list after bolting Florida

08:08 AM ET 01.07 | Jacoby Brissett, who after a drawn-out quarterback competition at Florida lost to fellow sophomore Jeff Driskel, has decided to transfer. Brissett's high school coach, Palm Beach Dwyer's Jack Daniels, said Sunday that it was a tough decision for Brissett, but one he felt he had to make. "He loved the University of Florida," Daniels said. "He's got a bunch of friends on the team. He did everything he was asked to do. They elected to go with Jeff. "It's time for Jacoby to move on. He's too good to be sitting behind someone." Daniels said Brissett has a short list of schools he is considering transferring to, including West Virginia, Arkansas, Louisville, North Carolina State and Duke.

Without much knowledge of the QB situations at Duke or NC St, I would think a big guy with a strong arm like his would be valuable in the ACC. He needs some strong coaching IMO, but has the raw talent.

Boom and Pease will need to focus on their other young guns this offseason with Brissett leaving.
BSB knows more about the roster rankings than I do, but seems like Mornhinweg or Murphy were next on the depth chart? Time to get them some increased reps. BUT KEEP WORKING WITH DRISKELL PLEASE!

Mornhinweg is a clip board holder. UF 13 QB recruit Max Staver is another clipboard holder and IMO UF is recruiting him to help with getting USC CB commit Jalen Ramsey.
Murphy is the clear backup now. Very mobile. Good thrower on the run.

That is a fear of mine. I don't want Brissett on our schedule. Kid clearly has an axe to grind. He was Jabba's QB. Once Jabba left, UF moved to Driskell.
I wish Brissett the best, just not against UF.

He'd probably play sooner (and more) at WV.
