08:10 AM ET 01.07 | According to at least one scout, it may not be in the best interests of Oklahoma safety Tony Jefferson and receiver Kenny Stills to enter the 2013 NFL Draft. Sources close to the program indicated Sunday that Jefferson and Stills were leaning toward forgoing their final seasons of college eligibility, but that no official decision had been made. One NFL scout told The Oklahoman before the Cotton Bowl that neither Jefferson nor Stills was ready for the NFL, and that both were likely to be fourth- or fifth-round selections. ... Both Jefferson and Stills received grades from the NFL Draft Advisory Board; Jefferson declined to disclose his grade, and Stills said he was told he'd go "anywhere in the first four rounds."

I haven't seen anything approaching NFL type play from either of them. Missed catches and missed tackles won't cut it in the NFL...best stay and get better

That monster from South Carolina is the one that is ready IMHO...and they won't let him go yet.

I'd be OK if they gave him a waiver on this.

When has someone telling them they aren't ready ever stopped a player from declaring, if they wanted to? The biggest one I can remember is Carroll saying Sanchez wasn't ready. Someone remind me how well Sanchez is doing in the NFL.

There has already been talk about Clowney challenging the 3 years out of HS rule. Not necessarily from him, but I have heard sports people say it ought to be challenged. It would make the college game worse, of course.

Let's talk Cotton. Johhny Football dominated Okie in the second half. Having been stuck with 1,000 OU fans for 2 days, consensus before the game was TAMU is still the old TAMU. 4th best in Big 12 & 4th-best in SEC. Just more hype this year b/c of the SEC love-fest.

AFTER the game, consensus was just another melt-down by Big Game Bob......little credit given to TAMU for being a different/better team than in the past. My take, TAMU would have won Big 12 this year and could do it next year, too.....what say you Crimson, D2 et al??

I ain't no aggie homer, but IMHO, they were the best team in the SEC at the end of the year.

And yes, they'd have been the best team in the Big 12 at the end of the year.

I agree...there was the usual melt-down, but it was caused by the dominance of TAMU. Bob might not win a lot of big bowl games, but folks don't remember that the other team is also very good and someone has to lose.

And I firmly believe that it was TAMU that won the game and not OU losing...and TAMU was definitely the best SEC right now....IMO

No doubt about it. TAMU would have easily won it this year and would next year.

It seems the teams that gave atm trouble this year were high octane (Ole Miss and LaTech). I think Baylor, OSU and WVU might have outscored them.
