Going green, Stars unis will be 'drastically different'

08:12 AM ET 01.07 | Not only are there pressing decisions on Jamie Benn in Dallas, but there is a sartorial matter on the books, too. The Stars have asked for an extension on their deadline to submit new uniforms for the 2013-14 season, and have received it from the NHL. They probably have until late January now. They are awaiting prototypes from Reebok so that they can be approved by the team and submitted to the NHL in time. Among the key points: 1. They are drastically different from the current look. 2. There will be a new logo. 3. Green is the dominant color. That's all I have right now. There is a caveat that if they don't think they have made the right choice, they could shelve it and then wait until 2014-15, but they seem ready to go forward with this right now.

How hard can it be to make a simple, classy jersey when your team logo is a damn star?

and I have my Hartford jersey. Funny thing, I was in The NHL shop in NYC on New year's Day...buckets of Hartford stuff...I had to check to make sure they weren't still in the league
