07:39 PM ET 01.07 | After being recently dropped from the Cleveland Cavaliers rotation, the once promising Omri Casspi has requested a trade out of Cleveland, per a report by NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski. Casspi, who is the first Isreali-born NBA player, missed five games in Decemeber with gastronitis and has since become an afterthought in Cleveland. If the Cavaliers part ways with Casspi, they won't be doing it on the cheap. Back in 2011 the Cavaliers traded first-round pick J.J. Hickson to the Sacramento Kings, along with a protected first round pick, to acquire Casspi. After starting 93 games over the last three seasons, Casspi has played just one minute for the Cavaliers since Dec. 11, so it would appear that the notion of trading Casspi is a mutual one between player and franchise.

The offer has been out there for months but nobody wants to take it. I thought for sure that a bag of balls, 3 roles of athletic tape and a refill of the locker room snack machine was a great deal but I guess not.
