04:54 PM ET 01.07 | Searching for the right hire to fill their vacant head coaching position, the San Diego Chargers are reportedly interested in former Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren and current Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, according to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora. La Canfora reports San Diego already has intentions to interview Arians, who served as interim head coach in Indianapolis this season while head coach Chuck Pagano underwent treatment for leukemia. However, Arians has been dealing with a health issue of his own. Before the Colts' playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens Sunday, Arians was rushed to the emergency room with a severe headache and nausea. Arians was still in the hospital Monday morning, waiting for his blood pressure to stabilize.

Bad mistake!!! Yeah I know he's been to three SBs, but the one with Seatlle was tainted,as they play in a very weak NFC West when he was there. IMO, Holmgren is too much like Andy Reid, the game has past him by.The Chargers would be better off hiring a good young mind!!! Just my opinion!!

Holmgren would be great for San Diego. He has been to 3 Super Bowls and there was nothing tainted about his Seattle team playing in one. Holmgren still brings a lot to the table and would be the NFL hire of the year if the Chargers sign him.

Comment #1 was only my opinion. Holmgren was a good coach years ago, but the game has passed him by, as his job as President of the Browns proved!!! Yes, IMO, when he took the Hawks to the Suber Bowl in 2005, the team wasn't as good as some people think. He won a very weak NFC West at the time. Again this is just my opinion, The Chargers would have been better off keeping Turner then to hire Holmgren.

If we were talking Norv Turner 19 Years of nothing, he left the Cowboys 19 Years ago I'd agree with you, but Holgrem has always been competitive and I think he would do well, I think he can help Philip Rivers!

Agreed, and I know a few Charger fans that would cancel their season tickets if Holmgren showed up either as GM or coach.
He is not what the fanbase wants.

I agree with Fred, Holmgren would be a good hire for San Diego as head coach. He never was good as a GM or President but is respected throughout the NFL as one of the best coaching minds in the business. It is ridiculous to compare a terrible coach like Turner to a winner like Holmgren.

Why would you say that? There are very few NFL head coaches that have taken two teams to the Super Bowl. He inherited terrible teams in both Green Bay and Seattle and made both of them consistent winners. I would love for him to coach the Cowboys but that won't happen with Jerry (Dictator) Jones here.

I agree that Holmgren "was" a winner 8/10 years ago, but what has the man done recently??

But again, you are talking about Holmgren taking a team to the Super Bowl 8/10 years ago!!! If he were such a good coach, don't you think he would have had a coaching job the last 4/5 years. He really only had one "real" good year in Seattle, that being in 2005.

Bull ****. No trip to the Super Bowl is tainted.
Dude may not be a great coach, but he took two teams to the Big One. How many coaches can say that?
Shula. Parcells. Reeves. Holmgren. That it?

On second thought, Charger fans don't even know what a Super Bowl is, do They? Maybe that's the reason they were so happy with big Norv!

Holmgren is a great coach, but he's a lousy GM. That's been his problem lately. Pair him with a quality GM and you have something.
