07:41 PM ET 01.07 | The Alabama Crimson Tide will be lead by the ever popular A.J. McCarron on Monday and it will be the second straight year that he'll be doing so. But had doctors not saved his life back in 1996, we may never have seen McCarron grow up to become the star quarterback of the Crimson Tide. McCarron was 5 years old in 1996, but on Aug. 4 -- a Monday -- he was fighting for his life, bleeding to death after having the left side of his face crushed in a jet-skiing accident while vacationing with his family. McCarron's younger brother Corey recalls the accident that almost ended the life of his older brother and robbed the world of a great talent. A.J. McCarron continues to live a life that can't be scripted, and we've only just tasted the beginning of what has so far been an amazing ride for the McCarron brothers.

It's good that he made it to do the destroying of the Irish that he is doing tonight. But oh what a travesty, the playoff should have started THIS year or years ago. We only have the knuckle-draggin good ol boy NCAA to thank for this mess. You only support it if you keep buying tickets for it.

Interesting story but with the NC game going on, you would think the interns would cover that.

I do expect them to show up. Well, some of them anyways.

Another shining example of why teams that don't play in BCS conferences don't belong in BCS bowls, much less the BCS championship game. A path of cupcakes led Notre Dame to a fake ranking that meant nothing. Their defense? The worst in Notre Dame bowl history.

Four-Pete BCS bowl losers don't lie, and their average margin of loss in BCS bowls is like 25 points. Nothing to be proud of.

Brotha68: "A.J. McCarron is average. He's a game manager."

Threw for 4 tds against one of the best defenses in the nation (the best scoring defense in the nation). I have nothing against most ND fans, but brotha68, you posted some really dumb things in the run-up to this game and I don't believe that I will let you forget them.

QUOTE(#9):

Everyone but Irish fans knew ND was overrated. ND would have a tough time in the SEC. Goergia, A&M, Florida, and LSU were all better than the Irish.

ND would have a tough time in any Major Conference ,they could not pad there schedule with a bunch of cupcakes that they blow out to make them look awsome.

Manti Teo ? .......the next Rey Mauluga in the NFL.......Big Bust.
