07:58 AM ET 01.08 | Perhaps Alex Rodriguez's hip was in far worse shape than anyone knew. The doctor scheduled to perform the upcoming hip surgery on [Rodriguez] declared the injury had zero to do with steroids, but everything to do with A-Rod's impotent October. In an exclusive interview with The Post, Dr. Bryan Kelly described a patient whose left hip muscles had "just shut down," becoming so weak that A-Rod had trouble doing a simple leg raise during exams. ... [Kelly] stated he had "no doubt" Rodriguez's humiliating playoff meltdown was caused by the injury. "I was more surprised that he was able to play at all with a hip that looked like that," Kelly said. "Most people would not be able to play with a hip function like this and the imaging that looked like his."

Morning... I remember reading that for the Yankees to collect (at least for the 2013 season) he cannot play in any games. Whether that means DLed for the season or not I am not sure. Going beyond that I am not sure of anything.
But I would assume that means he does have to make at least an "honest" attempt at rehabbing himself.

Well, if I never return you might look into the offices of the CT DMV as I have physically lost my license and must now go there to get a replacement. I hate dealing with beauracts. Fare thee well...

Nah. I lost a bet.

It was supposed to be an avatar change for a week, but I decided to leave it up for a month because I probably post less in one month than I did in a day when I made the bet.

I want ChiSoxFag to get his money's worth, you know.

sorry Joe, but the yanks made their bed when they inexplicably extended his contract the last time. as a sox fan I owe the yankees mgt a thank you for saving us from both A-Rod and Teixeira.

Just goers to show you playing hurt isn't always the thing to do. His inability to hit hurt them in the playoffs, and yes I know, the whole team went in the tank.

Not a chance he retires and walks away from all that money.

Yeah, when he opted out of the rest of his contract, I thought the Yanks should walk away. But they gave him more money and more years than anyone else would give him.
