08:01 AM ET 01.08 | Florida State tailback James Wilder Jr. landed in more legal trouble over the weekend. [Wilder] was charged with failing to appear in court because of a suspended driver's license. Wilder voluntarily turned himself in to the Leon County Sheriff's Department on Sunday and was released on a $500 bond, spokesman Lt. James McQuaig said Monday afternoon. His next scheduled court date is Jan. 24. This was the third arrest in a year for Wilder. On Feb. 22, he was charged with obstructing a law enforcement officer without violence and battery on a law enforcement officer. In April, he pled no contest to a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest without violence. Wilder was placed on probation for six months.

b/c when he was recruited, he put his 'best foot forward'. they don't do this stuff until they get to tallahassee.....or in greg reid's case, when he goes home to valdosta on a school break.
and it's no more disgraceful than the dozens of similar cases in the ncaa you read about every day.

He went to the wrong school. With credentials like these, he could've been a Dawg or Gator easily.

Missing a court date is a little on the coaching staff. As much as they baby sit these guys, not reminding a starter RB to get his arse to court is a mistake.

We recruited Greg Reid and James Wilder (as an LB). Glad we did not get either.

"he was charged with obstructing a law enforcement officer without violence and battery on a law enforcement officer."
Does this mean he called the enforcement officer every name in the book but didn't take a swing at him? How do you commit a "battery" "Without violence." ????

Gimme a f'g break. He's not a thug, he's Kane from "Kung Fu." There's no violence--how does missing a court date - for driving w/a suspended license - make somebody a thug?
Stupid.
