04:38 PM ET 01.08 | The Arizona Cardinals have hired Steve Keim to be their new general manager. The team announced the news via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon. There will be a press conference at 5 p.m. ET to introduce the new GM. Keim replaces former general manager Rod Graves, who was with the team for 16 years. Graves was the general manager since 2007, and was fired Dec. 31, along with coach Ken Whisenhunt. After interviewing with several other teams, Keim will be promoted from vice president of player personnel to general manager. Keim has been with the Cardinals since 1999, when he was a regional scout. He was named the vice president of player personnel in 2012.

Highly questionable decision. Maybe now they can go back to the laughing stock and we can have our emblem back in Missouri, where it belongs.

It always amazes me when a craptastic organization like that chooses to promote from within instead of shaking things up with outside talent.

Exactly. This however, is the cheapest and easiest way to go, which is right up the Bidwill's alley. Plus, evaluating GM candidates is pretty tough stuff when you know nothing about football.
