04:51 PM ET 01.08 | Lovie Smith will interview for the Philadelphia Eagles head coaching vacancy on Thursday. With Chip Kelly having decided to remain at Oregon, the Eagles search remains wide open as they look to replace Andy Reid. Smith spent the last nine seasons as the coach of the Chicago Bears, leading them to a 81-63 record during his time in Chicago. Smith was fired after the Bears finished 10-6 and failed to make the playoffs following a 7-1 start this season. In nine years in Chicago, Smith lead the Bears to the playoffs three times and to a Super Bowl appearance after the 2006 season.

If Lovie Smith gets the eagles head coaching job I hope make the same mistake he did in Chicago no one disputes that he's one of the great defensive minds in the business but he needs to bring in an strong offense coordinator

the Bears firing of Smith was a dumb move. Who fires a coach when their team wins 10 games?

If that coach failed to earn a playoff berth.

A team with an aging defense who hasn't made the playoffs 5 of the last 6 years.
Lovie is not a horrible coach, but he needs a solid OC, which he never had with the Bears.

A 10-6 record might look good on paper, but after starting 7-1, the Bears finished the season at 3-5, which had pretty much become the norm for the Bears the past few seasons. Chicago knew exactly what the future was going to be like with Lovie at the helm and they decided to move on without him. Love will succeed in an organization where he has a strong GM with whom he can work; he also needs to stop choosing his OCs from his network of unemployed coaching buddies.
Having said that, I hope he does well wherever he ends up.

I agree with your sentiments.
However... the Eagles offensive line was arguably worse this year.

Lovie, Andy Reid...what's the difference? If the Eagles cannot fix the offensive line, nothing else matters.
