05:45 PM ET 01.08 | The 2013 NFL Draft tight end class is shaping up to be a good one. Just a day after Stanford tight end Zach Ertz made himself eligible for the 2013 NFL Draft, Notre Dame Fighting Irish tight end Tyler Eifert is set to do the same. Eifert will be giving up his final year of eligibility to enter April's draft. Eifert made the announcement shortly after the Irish fell to Alabama in the national championship game. The Notre Dame tight end is considered by many to be the top tight end in the draft. Eifert set many school tight end records during his time at Notre Dame and led the team in receiving this past season with 50 catches for 685 yards and four touchdown.

He has his degree and just played in a NCG. Not much left to accomplish at this level...

I think he should enroll in grad school at MSU, since he already has his degree. We could use him.

Notre Dame has had quite a few tight ends drafted in recent years, and Eifert look s like the best of the bunch. He's an underrated blocker, has fantastic hands and uses his body better than any of the previous Irish tight ends.
