06:40 PM ET 01.08 | Carmelo Anthony finally came out and said what bothered him so much about Kevin Garnett's trash talk in the Knicks' 102-96 loss to the Celtics on Monday. The Knicks' forward said that Garnett hit below the belt with his words in a way that went beyond traditional on-court jawing. "There's certain things that you just don't say to men, another man. I felt he crossed the line," Anthony said. "We have an understanding right now. We handled it the way we handled it. Nobody needs to know what was said behind closed doors, so that situation is handled."

You gotta admit telling Melo his "woman tastes like honeynut cheerios" is pretty funny.. one day though Garnett is going to say something to the wrong person and get a broken jaw in the process...

Garnett is a punk ****.Somebody should kick his ****.

Agreed. KG is an immature punk, and as is always appropriate to say, extremely classless.

On the one hand, this isn't the first time KG crossed the line. There's the "Happy Mothers Day" comment to Tim Duncan who just lost his mother... Then there's the "cancer patient" comment to Charlie Villanueva who lost his hair to alopecia. But the NBA allowed him to skate then even with public criticism over him making fun of someone's disability. If the NBA was serious about cracking down on fights, it needs to tone down the trash talk. They should stop protecting KG and either (a) finally suspend him for crossing the line, or (b) allow him to get his **** kicked once and for all.

On the other hand, this isn't the first time KG crossed the line. Carmelo should have known better and kept his head.
