07:24 PM ET 01.08 | Every year when a head coach is fired, there is one name that is always kicked around almost as an afterthought. Year after year Bill Cowher's name is thrown into NFL coaching searches, even if he hasn't himself shown any interest. But now, Cowher is showing an interest and has stated that he hopes he will return to coaching eventually. Cowher was recently interviewed by Newsday, and when asked if he can ever see himself coaching again, Cowher replied with a simple and quick, "yes." The issue was then quickly raised as to how Cowher's time away from the game will affect his ability to return to a head coaching position and rule the way he did for so many years in Pittsburgh.

Nor can I. Is there anyone out there who will spend the $$$$ to bring him in plus give him the control he'll want besides San Diego?

Cowher to Chicago or Philly would be an interesting experiment.
San Diego might be a possibility for him. Have they picked a GM yet?
Arizona won't spend the money.

If Cowher coaches again, it'll be with someone like the Giants, who have a good organization. He won't go anywhere without that.
