RGIII out 6-8 months after total knee reconstruction

Never heard of 8-9 months for total reconstructive knee surgery. A.P. set the bar for everyone, but he's not human. Give The R proper time to heal with no time table.

Not good. Can't see an Adrian Peterson recovery here.

This being his 2nd one could take a little longer......better change his style of play or he won't make it thru his first contract.

That sucks, hopes he makes a full recovery no matter how long it takes. Great player, a credit to the NFL.

Unfortunately, I see the prediction that a lot of us had coming true. The very thing that makes him such an exciting player to watch may already have doomed him to a short career.

He needs to take longer than 8-9 months. If he comes back too soon he could re-injure and then be done for good. He'll also need to become a passer like Brees who doesn't run often. As smart as he is he can adapt, but it's a shame he will have to. If he doesn't I doubt he makes it two years in the NFL.

This does not bode well for Shanny. A terrible decision to leave him in the game. Not only was he a hinderance to the team, but Cousins had already proved himself capable.

This whole situation makes me sick to my stomach. Way to go, Shanahan.

I think the bad decision-making should go all the way back to the Dallas game. RG-III clearly wasn't fully recovered and wasn't moving well at all. The final injury this past weekend may have been the crippling one, but my guess is that he needed surgery a few weeks back when he missed a game.

Yeah, he showed he is a tough guy and willing to play with pain. I'll give him credit for that. But guts can only take you so far.

This was so needless. I hope he recovers, but I expect that regardless, Cousins will give him a run for the starting position next season.

He's out AT LEAST 15 months...I wonder who will be backing up Cousins next year...

Has Shanahan been fired or killed yet?

Freshman year at Baylor, Briles had him running a lot. Sophmore year he tears his ACL. Junior year? Develops into a pocket passer. Shanahan will learn to do the same. More zone read running plays but instead of griff running, roll him out in the pocket and hit the outside WR for a quick 8 yard hook. that was his bread and butter. If the skins keep making him run, he will have a great, but short career. Oh and can we get the NFL to force the skins to change the turf?!
