07:54 AM ET 01.09 | Carmelo Anthony suggested Tuesday that Kevin Garnett took things too far in the trash-talking department, saying, "There's certain things that you just don't say to men, another man." The [Anthony-Garnett] chaos during and after Monday's Knicks game was prompted by a comment from Garnett involving Anthony's wife, LaLa Vazquez, according to an Anthony confidant. "He really, really had a reason," the confidant said. "KG must've never gotten hugged [as a child], but Melo's OK now." ... Meanwhile, a source close to Anthony's wife claimed the comment was not about her. Now, the issue is whether the NBA will let the incident pass. "It will be investigated," league spokesman Tim Frank said [Tuesday].

Garnett always talks but when someone goes after him....he always backs the hell up. Tough talk does not make a tough man. I have always been a big KG guy except for the cowardliness. You back it up if you talk it.

Melo needs to get some anger management. Trash talking happened in the NHL all the time. Claude Lemieux was a master at it and he hit below the belt just like KG

Trash talk is one thing but what kind of man sits and allows another man to bad mouth his wife. Besides thats a bad comparison because you get to scrap it out in the NHL.

I understand the whole defnding your lady chivalry, but for 20 million, you have to expect your player to know that KG is trying to take you out of your game....and he did

That is understandable but if you continue to let people like KG get away with saying things like that and how far over the top it was then it will only get worse. There has to be some kind of repercussion and the league is not going to do anything about it.

I have to agree with Apple on this one...if someone were to talk about my wife like that, there is going to be a fight. Chivalry may be dying, but I am trying to keep it alive and this is a blatant violation of the Man Code IMO. Here in Oklahoma though, it could be a shoot out! LOL

KG just seems like a nasty person. Remember when he was making fun of V's cancer in Detroit?

Good morning MMA.
