07:56 AM ET 01.09 | Forgive the Texas organization for holding its collective breath for a moment. [The Rangers] were reminded on Tuesday night why they are nervous about shortstop Elvis Andrus participating in the Venezuelan winter league. Andrus was hit by a pitch by left-hander Jose Alvarez, of the Miami organization, in the first inning. The location of where the pitch hit Andrus could not be determined, and it apparently did not cause damage. Andrus played the entire game for Magallanes in a 2-0 win over Caribe de Anzoategui. After hitting only for 64 at-bats in the regular season, Andrus has found his swing in the playoffs. He is hitting .368 for 19 at-bats in the round-robin playoffs, fourth-highest among league qualifiers.

I guess nobody could be bothered to ask Andrus where the ball hit him.
