07:57 AM ET 01.09 | Unable last summer to lift his leg to tie his shoe, Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki is making his way back after a frustrating end to his 2012 season. Those activities for Tulowitzki include taking groundballs, hitting in the batting cage, working out and visiting a physical therapist in Las Vegas. ... So encouraged is Tulo that he plans to play for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic this spring. Because the two-time all-star finished last season on the disabled list, leaving the Rockies understandably concerned, he must be cleared by the WBC committee. Tulo will be evaluated in a workout early next week, the final hurdle to clear before he can be added to USA's preliminary roster next Thursday.

He's been off a long time -- this might be a chance to test the body before the season gets going. Having some confidence about his physical condition will certainly improve his performance.

That being said, I'm hoping his psyche doesn't suffer too much once it soaks in that he'll still be playing for the same loser owners....

I am like all of you and tell him he is not playing for Team USA because he is under contract until 2020 and the Rockies owe him around 150 million.

I would think the Rockies would go BERSERK about him playing in the WBC after missing so much time at his job. Who really cares about the WBC, anyway? I sure don't.

Me either. I would hope that MLB players would stay out of the tournamnet all together and prepare for the next season of 162 games.
