ND's most intriguing player on the move?

08:03 AM ET 01.09 | Of course, by nature of his position, Everett Golson will gain most of the attention, but Notre Dame's most intriguing player heading into 2013 might be the 6-foot-5, 255-pound Ishaq Williams. The sophomore is perhaps ND's best untapped talent. The former five-star recruit did record 21 tackles, 3.5 of them for loss, as a backup and situational player in 2012. In 2013, though, he needs a chance to spread his wings. And with the glut of outside linebacker talent already on the roster and coming soon in the nation's most vaunted linebacker haul, would a move to defensive end make sense? [With Kapron Lewis-Moore out of eligibility], the opportunity to maximize Williams' talent may rest in a subtle position switch.

Good idea to put a picture of Golson up...

The move from OLB to DE is almost a natural as guys put on a little more weight. We have had plenty of guys make that exact move. They go from a light pass rushing DE in HS, to OLB in college and about 10-15 more pounds, then they go on to DE. They are talking exactly about this kind of move for one of our players, if one of the younger guys steps up and is healthy as a sophomore.

I'm just amazed at how old he looks in that picture. When I saw him on Monday, he looked his age about 19 or so.

I won the DGAF Pick'em 1.
I didn't even get to drink Monday night because the game was over before I could open a bottle.

You know, I said to a freind right before the game. "He's a redshirt freshman. I'm not sure he will be able to handle everything thrown at him." He actually did all right. Our pass rush being alomost non-existent helped. Still can't understand why we cannot get a dominant pass rusher, A DE or a dominant OLB in the mold of Derrick Thomas or Lawrence Taylor.

Sorry Joe, from my perspective (as an ND fan and grad) I sure didn't see many weaknesses in your defense or anywhere else for that matter. I only hope that ND will learn from the beatdown and give you a better game if our paths happen to cross again in the future. Congratulations on the NC...!

Thay are doing that ... even for Kiel's article yesterday they pictured Golson (that probably doesn't sit too well with Gunnar, but may foreshadow his chances of starting ahead of Everret)

Well, we know you aren't an Irish fan, cause if you were, you'd still be drinking. ;-)

This.
As an aside, Golson's "young" as a FBS QB. If he continues to start for ND, he'll develop better abilities to both see the field and pass the ball (Otherwise, he'll make way for someone else).

The only good thing about the NC game is that now I don't have to hear from Domers anymore about OSU's poor performance in the '06 NC game vs Florida.

allow me to shed some light on this situation: in the digital age, photos occupy storage space on servers, each team is limited as to the storage space they are allowed. If you will recall, one Charles "Chubs" Weiss sports a physique which eats up considerable gigs of digital image information (go figure) so until the interns purge their ND photo files, they are out of available space...

Oh, c'mon, SEC speed with a beer bottle opener is legendary. You must've been slowed down by that name/avi combo, that's all I can figure. ;-)

Thanks, man. I am trying not to be a jerk in my posts. I am pretty sure it would have been brutal for alabama and the SEc if we had lost. :) This SI crowd can be pretty rough.
